Before we boarded our Jet Blue flight (no food served on board), we had dinner at the airport restaurant, 5ive Steak. The cutlery reminded us we were on the far side of security!
With our day and our stay in NYC at an end, we headed out to JFK airport, sharing our Towne Car ride with two teachers from Kuwait, a pair of young men who had spent a month traveling around the USA (and whose favorite city was Las Vegas!).
These skeletons show the similarities between a chimp and a human child… but can you tell who’s who?!
With hours left before we needed to head to the airport, we cabbed back uptown to the Museum of Natural History, famous for its dinosaurs.
…which we finished off with a plum tart tartin and roasted peach ice cream, plus, a trio of delights, compliments of the house! A delightful time was had by all!
I chose the Branzino with summer vegetables and, yes, I had a tasting of a sparkling wine! It was a delicious meal…
Peter chose the Lamb with barley, complimented with a lovely Pinot Noir, suggested by our terrific waitperson, Anna, who introduced us to the Tavern’s beverage director, Juliette Pope.
For our last supper, er, meal, Peter chose Gramercy Tavern, another “wait a month for reservations” restaurant. But Mr. Lucky, Peter, was able to get us a table when someone cancelled that day!
